Carrie Underwood Wants a Woman to Win “Idol”

Quick, name the last woman who won American Idol.

It happened six years ago when Jordin Sparks took the crown, two years after Carrie Underwood did the same. And Carrie says it's past time for another female champion on the show that launched her career.

"I mean, you never know why people vote a certain way. I think a lot of it might have to do with just the audience watching American Idol," Carrie told reporters.

"Yeah, I don't know how I pulled off a win, but my year, they said a guy was gonna win. So, they were wrong! Thank goodness!" she said. "I should definitely throw in some votes of my own, 'cause I would love to see another female take it home. I think that would be good. I think it's time."
