Carrie Underwood Tops CMT Music Awards Nominees

Miranda Lambert scores four nominations.

Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert and Jason Aldean are among the top nominees for the 2012 CMT Music Awards, which will be held June 6 in Nashville

Carrie leads the pack with five nominations for the 2012 CMT Music Awards and Miranda follows closely behind with four nominations; two for her solo work and two as a member of country trio and first-time nominees Pistol Annies. Jason, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts, Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift and Thompson Square are next in line tied for three nominations apiece. 

Duo The Civil Wars also received three nominations, including two for their collaboration with Taylor on the song “Safe & Sound” from The Hunger Games soundtrack.
