The rumors have been flying for days, but CMT made it official Friday morning (Jan. 20).

Sweet and innocent Carrie Underwood will perform live with not-quite-as-sweet Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler in Indianapolis for a CMT Crossroads show the day before the Super Bowl is held there.

Unlikely, no? But that's the idea behind the CMT Crossroads series, putting together pop/rock stars with country stars and seeing what cool things unfold.

Besides, there's the American Idol connection: Carrie won the show and Steven is now a judge on that show.

And you might recall that Carrie and Steven performed together last year on the Academy of Country Music Awards, doing a mash-up of Carrie's "Undo It" and Aerosmith's classic "Walk This Way."

CMT Crossroads: Steven Tyler & Carrie Underwood Live From the Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam will air Feb. 4 at 11 p.m. ET from the Pepsi Coliseum in Indy.

This is the second CMT Crossroads tied to a Super Bowl—Faith Hill and The Pretenders were the first Super pairing.
