Carrie Underwood is the People’s Choice

Carrie Underwood was named Favorite Female Singer at Wednesday’s fan-voted 35th annual People’s Choice Awards, while her hit “Last Name” took Favorite Country Song honors.

“Fans and people voting for me are what gave me a career in the first place,” the onetime American Idol champion told the audience at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. “This is an amazing night.” Rascal Flatts won the award for Favorite Group. Kid Rock’s “All Summer Long,” which became a Top 10 hit on country radio, was voted Favorite Rock Song. R&B singer Chris Brown defeated Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley for the Favorite Male Singer title.
