Sunday Night Football 2013 Opening Theme

Go big screen, or go home! That’s NBC’s philosophy when it comes to debuting the new “cinema spot” for Carrie Underwood’s “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” intro for Sunday Night Football.

The two-and-a-half-minute behind-the-scenes mini-movie, featuring Carrie and a collection of the NFL’s finest, will debut on more than 19,000 movie screens in AMC, Cinemark and Regal Entertainment Group theaters on July 25. The piece takes a peek at the making of the spot, whose theme song is set to the tune of Joan Jett’s “I Hate Myself for Loving You.”

This is Carrie’s second season to perform the song for the No. 1-ranked prime-time program.
