Carrie Underwood Gets Her Sunday Night Team

NFL stars join Carrie on Sunday Night Football on NBC theme.

Carrie Underwood is set to make her rookie debut as the new voice of Sunday Night Football on NBC, singing the well-known theme song that kicks off each telecast. But Carrie won't be carrying the ball alone. Thirteen of the NFL's top stars, including brothers Peyton and Eli Manning, will also be featured in the opening video segment, in which Carrie performs the song, "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night."

Carrie takes over theme song duties from Faith Hill, who performed the opening tune from 2007 until last year. The 2013 Sunday night season gets underway on Sept. 8, as the New York Giants take on the Dallas Cowboys in Dallas. The 13 NFL stars joining Carrie include Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos, brother Eli Manning of the Giants and the Green Bay Packers' Aaron Rodgers. Cowboys' defensive end DeMarcus Ware will also participate.

Sounds like an all-star lineup for sure. But what—no Tennessee Titans?
