Carrie Underwood has been out of the limelight recently and hard at work on her upcoming album, but she did make an appearance in support of Smokey Robinson at the Ella Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles on Monday, Sept. 19. Smokey was honored alongside singer Aretha Franklin ("Respect") during the awards ceremony.

Carrie wore a water-color patterned print dress, and revealed prior to the event that she and husband Mike Fisher had a low-key first wedding anniversary in July. The couple spent the weekend at a getaway a few hours outside of Nashville where they "ate a lot," according to the star.

Carrie and Smokey performed together at the 2010 Grammys alongside Celine Dion, Usher and Jennifer Hudson in a tribute to Michael Jackson.
