Carrie Soars With Record-Breaking Debut

Carrie Underwood earned the highest first-week sales of 2007 of any female artist in any genre with her new CD, Carnival Ride, released Oct. 23.

Carrie topped both the Billboard Top Country Albums and the all-genre Billboard Top 200 charts with sales of more than 500,000 copies. Carnival Ride is also the largest country debut in digital album chart history, with digital sales of nearly 45,000. In support of the album, Carrie is making guest appearances on several TV shows, including The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Nov. 5, and Good Morning America, Nov. 12. And look for Carrie on the cover of the Nov. 19 issue of Country Weekly, on newsstands Nov. 5, where she talks about her home life, how she stays grounded—and her ideal guy.
