CARRIE, RASCAL FLATTS LEAD BILLBOARD NOMINEES

Carrie Underwood and Rascal Flatts are the frontrunners for the 2006 Billboard Music Awards, Dec. 4.

Rascal Flatts captured nominations in seven categories, including Country Artist and Country Album for Me and My Gang. The trio also received nominations in several all-genre categories. Carrie is up for Female Country Artist and Country Album for Some Hearts, and received a nod for the all-genre New Artist award. Kenny Chesney picked up four nominations, including Country Artist. The 2006 Billboard Music Awards will be televised on FOX, Dec. 4, at 8 p.m. ET.
