CARRIE BAGS BILLBOARD AWARDS

Carrie Underwood was country’s big winner at Monday night’s Billboard Music Awards.

The singer took Female Country Artist of the Year, New Country Artist of the Year and Female Billboard 200 Album Artist of the Year, while her album Some Hearts was named Album of the Year and Country Album of the Year. Kenny Chesney was the only other country winner, receiving the Country Songs Artist of the Year prize. Big & Rich were among the presenters at the show, held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Winners are determined by performance on the charts of music-industry trade magazine Billboard.
