Carrie and Luke Snag Two Noms Each for the American Music Awards

Congrats to Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan, the most nominated country artists for this year's American Music Awards. They each got two noms.

Past that, it's a tough year for country at the AMAs, considered a rival awards show to the Grammys.

No twang in the all-genre top categories of Artist of the Year and New Artist of the Year. You might remember that Taylor Swift won the top prize last year—and she didn't even get a nomination for Artist of the Year this time.

Still, artists who did get nominations in the country categories were psyched.

Jason Aldean is up for Male Country Artist, against Luke and Eric Church.

Jason said he'd love to win.

"I've never won one of those. So I'd love to have one," Jason tells ABC News Radio, before laughing and adding, "If Luke gets one before I do, I'm gonna be pissed."

Fans can vote in all 20 categories. The AMAs will be broadcast on ABC Nov. 18.

The country categories:

Favorite Male Artist: Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Eric Church.

Favorite Female Artist: Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood.

Favorite Band, Duo or Group: Zac Brown Band, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts

Favorite Album: Luke Bryan, Tailgates & Tanlines; Lionel Richie, Tuskegee; Carrie Underwood, Blown Away.
