CARRIE ON AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS

Carrie Underwood is set to perform on the 2006 American Music Awards TV special, Tuesday night, Nov. 21, on ABC, starting at 8 p.m. ET.

Carrie is nominated for Favorite Female Artist in the Country category and Favorite New Breakthrough Artist, which covers all genres of music. Rascal Flatts, who will also be performing, picked up a pair of nominations in the Country category, Favorite Band, Duo or Group and Favorite Album for Me and My Gang. The band is also up for the all-genre Artist of the Year. Other country nominees include Kenny Chesney, Faith Hill and Gretchen Wilson. Comedian Jimmy Kimmel hosts the show, which airs live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
