The album, featuring the hit single “So Small,” is the follow-up to Carrie’s multiplatinum debut, Some Hearts. Carrie talks about the album and her career on GAC Nights, Oct. 23, at 10 p.m. ET. She is also slated for guest appearances on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, Oct. 29, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Nov. 5. Carnival Ride is decidedly more country than the previous effort, Carrie tells Entertainment Weekly. “The first one definitely had a purpose to serve,” she says. “I’d gained a big following of people who were not at all country music listeners.
