BUSY TIMES FOR THE "MAFIA"

John Rich of the hot duo Big & Rich declares that the calendar couldn't be busier for him, partner Big Kenny and their MuzikMafia cohorts.

At the Feb. 23 GuitarTown Auction Gala event in Nashville, which Big & Rich hosted, John commented to Country Weekly, "I'm producing an album for one of our MuzikMafia members, James Otto. Cowboy Troy is hosting Nashville Star with Wynonna. And Kenny and I are writing a ton of stuff." John added that Big & Rich will get back in the studio later this year to record a new project. "That will probably be for next year, though," says John, "since our current album was just released in November." Jamie O'Neal, who attended the GuitarTown event, has also been writing songs and plans to be in the studio soon. Jamie added that a new CD could be released toward the end of the year, though nothing has been confirmed. The GuitarTown Auction Gala event fund-raiser auctioned off the colorful, 10-foot guitars that have been seen around Nashville landmarks. The event raised more than $300,000 for local charities.
