BROOKS & DUNN SURPRISED BY KENNY'S FIRST WIN

Immediately after the CMA Awards, Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn admitted they were surprised at Kenny Chesney's CMA Win for Entertainer of the Year - not because he won, but because this was only his first CMA win. "It was weird, you know last year after we won our Duo award, I sat down and Kenny Chesney came over to me and asked if he could hold my award," recalled Ronnie. "I was like, 'What?'"

"I thought he was hitting on him," laughed Kix. "He said, 'I just wanna hold it.' And I go, 'So why? You got plenty of these things at home.' And he said, 'I've never won one of those.' I couldn't believe it. Sometimes we've been so graced with winning several of these that you forget there's a lot of big acts out there that haven't and how...this is a sacred award to a lot of people including us. It was neat to see Kenny win tonight because he's having huge success and it was his first one. It's pretty amazing."
