BROOKS & DUNN CELEBRATE THE 4TH WITH FAMILY

Although you'll be able to see them on ABC-TV's pre-taped July 4th special, Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn will be celebrating the holiday at home with their respective families.

The duo are keeping a promise to their family to stay away from touring during the holiday, as they have for the past few years.

"Every year we try to go sailing or be on the water," says Kix. "Being together for a week and having fun is a lot of what being American is about for me: my family! I know it'll be a good time."

Ronnie has the same idea, but is throwing a barn party with family as well as friends -- and it sounds like it will be an all-out blowout.

"Even doing a small thing takes a lot of work," he says about the preparations for the party. "Last year, the party got away from us! My wife, Janine, and the kids missed it so much that we started the first of June to make sure we'd be ready."

"In a year like this, it's good to remember the communities we all have, because that's what makes this country strong. Family, friends, neighbors -- and a good healthy dose of cooking outdoors!"

We couldn't have said it better ourselves.
