Brooks & Dunn Announce Breakup

The hitmaking duo of Brooks & Dunn has decided to call it quits.

Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn announced the split through a joint statement at their official website on Aug. 10: “This ride has been everything and more than we could ever have dreamed. We owe it all to you, the fans. If you hear rumors, don't believe them, it's just time.” The twosome isn’t quite finished yet: Tour dates are scheduled through late October and a farewell tour is planned for next year. A two-CD greatest-hits compilation, #1’s … and then some, is set for release Sept. 8 and will include the new tracks “Indian Summer” and “Honky Tonk Stomp.” Their most recent album of new studio material was 2007’s Cowboy Town.
