Brooks & Dunn will be putting some rock in their country when ZZ Top opens for the duo on their Cowboy Town Tour in August and September.

Ronnie Dunn notes that he and partner Kix Brooks were looking to tour with a classic rock act. “Our first inclination was to go for ZZ Top because we knew them through CMT [CMT Crossroads special] and I think the music would be fun,” Ronnie told Dial-Global. Kix adds, “We learned a really valuable lesson openin’ for the Rolling Stones that those kinds of rock fans are not that different than our fans at all. And in this day and time, you talk to most country artists and their influences are gonna include some big time rock bands.”
