Brett Favre, Peyton Manning Join Kenny

Instead of spending his time gearing up for a big tour, Kenny Chesney has used most of the last year to film a tribute to high school football, a subject the former high school receiver is passionate about. Boys of Fall is set to air on ESPN on Aug. 29.

While the film focuses on the lessons learned under the bright lights on a high school football field, Boys of Fall will tout plenty of starpower. Kenny interviewed football stars Brett Favre and Peyton Manning as well as coaches John Madden, Tony Dungy, Bill Parcells, Nick Saban, Mack Brown, Jim Tressel and Bobby Bowden. The film kicks off with New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton speaking to his old high school team in the locker room before a big game.

From there, the film moves on to different segments that Kenny feels separates football from other sports--Boys of Influence, Boys of Tradition, Boys of Passion, Boys of Sacrifice, Boys of Trust and Boys of Tomorrow.

"Making this film has been an incredible journey for me and everyone involved,” says Kenny in a press release. "Interviewing the men in this film has made me look at my own life in a different way. I hope people out there get as much out of watching this film as I did making it!"

"Boys of Fall captures the essence of what makes playing football so special.  In high school football and beyond, it's a life experience as much as it is a sports experience,” says John Dahl, executive producer, ESPN Films. “The passion Kenny has for football comes through clearly in this documentary. We're thrilled to have collaborated with him on it."
