Brett Eldredge can remember being part of the ACM Lifting Lives Music Camp a couple of years ago as primarily a songwriter, before garnering No. 1 hits like “Don’t Ya.” Wednesday night (June 25), Brett once again participated in the camp, but this time as a better-known singer and entertainer. Brett and Wynonna Judd joined the ACM Lifting Lives campers for a fun evening of karaoke singing at Nashville club Winners Bar & Grill.

The ACM Lifting Lives Music Camp is a weeklong program that serves around 30 people who have Williams syndrome, a genetic condition characterized by developmental delays and learning disabilities. At the same time, they exhibit a strong affinity for music and can instantly recall lyrics and melodies. The camp is part of the Academy of Country Music’s charitable efforts.

Before joining the campers for their karaoke night, Brett spoke with Country Weekly about his introduction to the camp two years ago.

“I did the Songwriter Series part,” Brett explained. “I told all my friends that it was one of the happiest points of my life. It’s such a moving experience. Everybody’s here with a smile on their face. I said at the time that if I ever got the chance to do it again, I’m jumping on it.”

Wynonna has also participated in the camp in previous years. “These sweet spirits take me out of myself,” she noted about the campers. “They love music and they love celebration. I get more out of it than they do.”

Brett joined several of the campers on the Winners stage for his hit “Don’t Ya,” Keith Urban’s “Somebody Like You” and other songs. Wynonna entered the room to her smash hit “No One Else on Earth” and cheers from the campers. “Are we having fun or what?” she announced to more cheers and applause.

Wynonna took a seat near the stage as the campers entertained her with the classic “My Heart Will Go On” and other tunes.
