Brad Paisley says that after months of preparation last year, he and the CMA Awards staff had to rewrite half the opening monologue at the last minute.

Why?

“Truthfully, a couple of artists complained about some of the jokes because we made the mistake of letting them know what they were,” Brad told ABC's Good Morning America.

“I’m never gonna do that again,” Brad added.

“And there were also some other things, and next thing you know we're rewriting and rewriting and we're sitting there saying, ‘How are we gonna end this?’ And we kind of winged it.”

Yikes!

The show will go on this year at 8 p.m. ET Wednesday (Nov. 6) on ABC.
