Brad Paisley’s Dream Band Includes Keith Urban, Sting, Don Henley

“I love the idea of sharing in things and collaborating with people,” says Brad.

“I wish I was in a band,” Brad Paisley told reporters backstage after a recent No. 1 party. The solo singer traded guitar riffs with ace Aussie guitar slinger Keith Urban on their 2009 Billboard No. 1 song, “Start a Band,” and Brad says Keith would be a top pick if he were to put together a dream band.

“We’d need a drummer,” mused Brad, before settling on a member of the Eagles. “Don Henley, that'd be fun.” Bass player? “Sting. I'd put Sting in it,” said Brad. “Which all of a sudden, Keith and I are outgunned. So all of a sudden the band just broke up,” he quipped.

He also says that being in a band would relieve some of the pressures of being a solo artist. “I like the band process. For instance, right now, you’d be talking to my drummer. I’d be off doing something else and he would be doing this interview,” Brad joked. “I love the idea of sharing in things and collaborating with people.”

Hey, if solo artists such as Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash can also be part of the Highwaymen and if Miranda Lambert can also put out an album as part of the trio Pistol Annies, we think Brad could make it work.
