Brad Paisley Looking for New Opening Act

New E! series scours the Internet.

Is Brad Paisley looking for the next musical superstar? It looks that way. The singer/songwriter will take part in Opening Act, a new musical competition created by American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe and American Idol host Ryan Seacrest, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Opening Act, which will premiere July 9 on E!, will select musical contestants via an artist development team that will scour the Internet, searching for up-and-coming artists who have the talent and charisma to open for Brad, Jason Mraz, LMFAO, Gym Class Heroes and Nicki Minaj.

Once the contestants are selected, each will undergo a one-week Hollywood boot camp, complete with mentoring sessions, before performing as an opening act.

As previously reported, Jason Aldean is also taking part in the new series.
