Brad Paisley Adds Some Rap Steel Guitar to New Single

No, Brad Paisley's not going rap.

But the song “Beat This Summer”—he named his upcoming summer tour after it—is pretty funky. It started with a drum loop and it includes a little, uh, rap steel guitar.

"You know, with this song, what we tried to do was be really creative with the production of it, and we took the steel guitar, and the steel guitar on this song is actually played a lot like a turntable," Brad explained to reporters. "Basically, you take my steel guitar player, you turn his ballcap sideways and this happens."

"Beat This Summer" is on Brad's new album, Wheelhouse, out April 9. The Beat This Summer Tour, with Chris Young and Lee Brice, launches May 9.
