Booted Idol Contestant Skylar Laine Is Moving to Nashville

Mississippi teen wants to write and record with Miranda Lambert and Justin Moore.

Move over, Carrie Underwood and Scotty McCreery. Make way, Kellie Pickler, Lauren Alaina and Bucky Covington and Josh Gracin.

Skylar Laine says she plans to be the latest American Idol alum to move to Nashville to make some country music.

"I want to make real country music, you know, like honky-tonk songs—the good country stuff," the 18-year-old Mississippi native told reporters in a conference call Friday (May 4).

"That's what's gonna make me happy, and that's what comes out when I write."

Skylar's last performance was of Miranda Lambert's hit "Gunpowder & Lead," and Skylar sang a few other Miranda songs on the show as well.

So the answer is, yes, she wants to write and sing with Miranda, and Justin Moore, too, if you please.
