Blake Shows Trace the Love in L.A.

Blake Shelton is never stingy with his affection. So it was no surprise Sunday night (Jan. 6) when he spotted his good buddy and “Hillbilly Bone” duet partner Trace Adkins at a party thrown by their shared network, NBC, that Blake planted a big kiss and hug on him, much to Trace’s chagrin.

Trace and Blake attended the event at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, Calif., to help promote their respective NBC reality shows, All-Star Celebrity Apprentice and The Voice. As he was hugging Trace, Blake joked to reporters, “Trace Adkins didn’t discover me, but he has touched me.”

Later, a more serious Blake, whose contestants have won The Voice two seasons running, reflected on the upcoming cycle of the singing competition with new judges/mentors Usher and Shakira. “The show’s different now," he said. "I’m not going to sit here and bullsh-t y’all about that. It’s different, with different personalities. I think it’s just as good, but it’s definitely different chemistry.”

When asked if he’ll be watching Trace on Apprentice, Blake’s mischievous side returned. “I guess if there is absolutely nothing else on. If I can’t find one soft porn on pay-per-view, no infomercial that I hate, I may watch Trace," he joked, before adding seriously, “I know Trace is very good at the Apprentice. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him do well.”

All-Star Celebrity Apprentice premieres March 3, while The Voice returns March 25.
