As you might expect, anticipation is building for the 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 6.

The latest special performance announcement concerns show co-host Blake Shelton, who will be performing a song with his nemesis from The Voice, Shakira. The song, “Medicine,” appears on Shakira’s new album.

Additionally, The Band Perry will open the show with their new single, “Chainsaw,” and Hunter Hayes’ performance of “Invisible” will be in conjunction with the “Child Hunger Ends Here” campaign. Also intriguing is the pairing of Miranda Lambert and George Strait, who will be performing a medley of Merle Haggard songs that will be followed by Garth Brooks presenting Merle with the Crystal Milestone Award.

Previously announced performers include Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Brett Eldredge, Toby Keith, Justin Moore, Kip Moore, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban and Lady Antebellum with Stevie Nicks.

The 49th Annual ACM Awards, co-hosted by Blake and Luke Bryan, airs live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday, April 6, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS
