Blake’s Father Could Be Released From Hospital on Friday

Dick Shelton taken there for treatment of pneumonia the same night his son won two ACA trophies.

Looks like Blake Shelton's dad is going to pull through after being hospitalized, which had the country singer so emotional during the American Country Awards Monday night (Dec. 5).

"Thank you all for the prayers for my dad . . . Hoping he gets to go home Friday," Blake tweeted late Wednesday night (Dec. 7).

You might remember Blake referred to his dad, Dick Shelton, after accepting an ACA trophy, saying, "He's been having a pretty rough couple of weeks, and I know he's watching tonight. I love you, Dad, and I dedicate this to you, man." Blake also got a little choked up during his performance of "God Gave Me You" later in the show.

Turns out Blake's dad had gone into the hospital that night with pneumonia, and Blake flew home to Oklahoma right after the show to be with the family.
