Blake Brings David Onstage in Nail's Home State

Missouri's own sings his first-ever No. 1 song, "Let It Rain."

David Nail went back to his home state of Missouri to catch some college hoops this weekend, and he decided to take in Blake Shelton's show in Missouri Saturday night (Jan. 14).

But there's no such thing as a free show—David ended up singing on stage.

Blake started to sing David's first No. 1 country hit, "Let It Rain," but then Blake stopped.

"What if we had one of Missouri's own come out here and sing it the right way?" Blake asked the crowd. "Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome a good friend of mine, the man with the No. 1 hit in the country, your own David Nail.”

And the crowd went wild.

David later told CountryWeekly.com, in a statement, “He said he was gonna do it, but you know how show momentum goes. Then all of a sudden, it was happening.

"I was walking up there—and to hear all those people from my home state going crazy?! It was the greatest feeling in the world . . . but that's the kind of guy Blake is! He knew how much that would mean to me, and he figured he'd do it!”
