Blake Bounces Gwen Off The Voice, Hires Her for His Band

Blake Shelton’s publicist confirms that he asks Gwen Sebastian to join his band.

At least she got a gig out of it.

Country singer Gwen Sebastian got bounced off Blake Shelton's team in Monday night's (March 19) episode of The Voice. Gwen went up again powerhouse Erin Willett on Pat Benatar's "We Belong," and Blake chose Erin as the winner of the battle round

But word comes early Tuesday morning (March 20) that Gwen got a heckuva consolation prize. Blake has asked Gwen to join his band for several tour dates. And Gwen will be part of the band when Blake performs April 1 on the Academy of Country Music awards show, which will air live on CBS.

In a statement, Gwen says she's gonna have fun.

"He has a big heart and an infectious laugh," she said. "Plus, he’s pretty darn funny!”
