Blake, Big & Rich Expected for Footloose Nashville Premiere

And the film's star, Julianne Hough, is expected to dance her way down the red carpet Thursday night.

The original 1984 version of Footloose may have had some small-town hillbilly charm in it, but this year's remake has been twanged out, with hay bales by the truckload.

Blake Shelton's remake of the title song is used almost in its entirety for the movie's closing scene. And quite a bit of the new Big & Rich song "Fake ID" provides the beat for a big line-dancing scene for the new Footloose, set to come out Oct. 14.

So, no surprise that movie makers are holding a star-studded premiere in the Nashville area Thursday night (Oct. 6), at a restored old-school Main Street movie house in the quaint Nashville suburb of Franklin, Tenn.

The film's star (and aspiring country singer), Julianne Hough, is set to be there, as are Big & Rich, Blake Shelton, Martina McBride, Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina, Kix Brooks, country singer/Survivor contestant Whitney Duncan and others.
