Billy Ray made the announcement during his appearance on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, Feb. 27. “This year, it is all about the dream, about the music, about persistence and never giving up faith,” Billy Ray said on the show. Recently, Billy Ray has earned a completely new fan base by co-starring with his real-life daughter Miley in the hit Disney Channel series Hannah Montana. “He is awesome and talented, and what people don’t realize about him is that he was that struggling musician,” Nashville Star executive producer Sally Ann Salsano told Nashville’s daily newspaper The Tennessean. Meanwhile, Nashville Star continues its national casting search on March 8. The Nashville auditions will be held March 21 and 22 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center.
