BILLY GILMAN TO SING AT FUNERAL

Billy Gilman has been asked to sing at his good friend Mattie Stepanek's funeral on Monday, June 28. Mattie, who was a 13-year-old best-selling author with his "Heartsongs" books, lost his battle with a rare form of muscular dystrophy on Tuesday. Mattie was also a MDA National Goodwill Ambassador. In 2003 Billy and Mattie teamed to put some of Mattie's Heartsong poems to music and released Music Through Heartsongs: Songs Based on the Poems of Mattie J. T. Stepanek. Billy will sing a song from that album at the funeral. "When I heard about Mattie's death I knew we had lost a great soul," said Billy, "but in his short life he has left us all a legacy with his wonderful poetry that will last forever."
