If ever a guy could use a break, it might be Billy Currington, who just went through months of legal wrangling after a run-in with a boat captain in Georgia.

Billy got five years’ probation late last month (Sept. 27) after pleading no contest to charges of elder abuse against the 70-year-old captain.

On the heels of that, Billy has landed a No. 1 hit with “Hey Girl,” his eighth chart-topper to date, across all charts.

Billy’s last No. 1s came back in 2010 with “Let Me Down Easy” and “Pretty Good at Drinkin' Beer.”

“Hey Girl” is the first single from Billy's latest album, We Are Tonight. Congrats, Billy!
