When The Band Perry’s Kimberly Perry has been singing songs like “You Lie,” “DONE.” and “Better Dig Two,” she’s also been doing a little acting. Apparently the sassy young blonde has been happily involved with Toronto Blue Jays catcher J.P. Arencibia. In fact, the two have just become engaged!

According to Nashville’s Tennessean, it was a fairy-tale proposal. The family was preparing to go out for dinner near their home in Greeneville, Tenn., and when Kimberly walked out of the house, J.P. was there, standing under a tree that had special meaning to Kimberly. At one time the singer had said, “If I get proposed to in this life, I hope it happens underneath this tree.” Her family sent her back inside, where she changed into a pink dress that she said she wanted to wear if she ever got engaged, and put on a bracelet that her grandfather gave her grandmother when they started dating. When she returned to the front porch, J.P. was on one knee.

Sigh!

The couple met last year at the Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Fla., but later J.P. finagled his way backstage at one of The Band Perry's shows, where he scored Kimberly’s phone number.

Kimberly is sporting a three-carat emerald-cut diamond from her beau, and is planning a wedding for next summer.

Country Weekly congratulates the happy couple.
