The Band Perry Scores First No. 1 Country Album

Congrats to The Band Perry on scoring its first No. 1 country album! Of course, Pioneer is only the sibling trio's second album, but hey, that makes it even more impressive, right?

The Band Perry sold a hefty 129,000 copies, even more than the 110,000 copies experts had predicted for first-week sales. The reason? It's likely the trio's performance of the song "DONE." on Sunday's (April 7) Academy of Country Music Awards show.

In fact, Billboard notes that several country acts got sales bumps from the awards show.

Florida Georgia Line sold 248,000 copies of the single "Cruise" after the show, an increase of 372 percent from the week before.

While The Band Perry did really well, it still wasn't enough to stop Justin Timberlake from capturing a third straight week at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 albums chart.

FYI, the last artist to get three straight weeks on the Billboard 200? Taylor Swift did it last year with Red.
