The Band Perry Hits CMA Songwriter's Series

Newcomers The Band Perry will join Kix Brooks, David Lee Murphy, and host Bob DiPiero for the Country Music Association's Songwriters Series, held in Chicago on Oct. 8 at Joe's Bar and Oct. 9 at the Chicago Country Music Festival.

For The Band Perry, who are known for their songs "HIp To My Heart" and "If I Die Young," the event will be as much about learning as performing. "We're in love with country music's melodic storytelling and there are so many fantastic song-spinners in our genre," the group's Kimberly Perry tells Country Weekly via e-mail. "The three of us are honored and humbled to warm up a corner of the stage with Kix, David Lee and Bob for the CMA Songwriters Series in Chicago. We plan to play a little and learn a lot!"
