Newcomers The Band Perry will join Kix Brooks, David Lee Murphy, and host Bob DiPiero for the Country Music Association's Songwriters Series, held in Chicago on Oct. 8 at Joe's Bar and Oct. 9 at the Chicago Country Music Festival.

For The Band Perry, who are known for their songs "HIp To My Heart" and "If I Die Young," the event will be as much about learning as performing. "We're in love with country music's melodic storytelling and there are so many fantastic song-spinners in our genre," the group's Kimberly Perry tells Country Weekly via e-mail. "The three of us are honored and humbled to warm up a corner of the stage with Kix, David Lee and Bob for the CMA Songwriters Series in Chicago. We plan to play a little and learn a lot!"
