The Band Perry welcomed a full house of industry executives and media as they celebrated their No. 1 hit, "Better Dig Two," at the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Nashville, Tuesday (March 5). The trio of Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry were honored along with the song's co-writers, Shane McAnally, Brandy Clark and Trevor Rosen.

The group received a special plaque from their label, Republic Nashville, while the Country Music Association presented all with commemorative medallions. "This is such a special moment for us," Kimberly told the crowd. "There is truly a sacred relationship between artists and writers." With a nod toward the three writers, she added, "We thank you guys so much. It's one of our favorite songs we've ever heard. It means the world that you would trust us to record your song." The party proved an especially sweet moment for Brandy and Trevor, who each celebrated their first No. 1 single.

Before the party, The Band Perry talked with members of the Nashville music media about "Better Dig Two" and their upcoming new album, Pioneer, which will be released April 2. Kimberly noted that "Better Dig Two" is "the ultimate love song," while brother Neil added, "This is a good example of what people will hear on the new album." Brother Reid commented that they aimed to record an album that would exemplify the feel and aggressiveness of their live shows.

Kimberly also revealed that "Better Dig Two" gave the group a good deal of excitement as they watched it climb the charts. "We were not expecting it to slip in to No. 1 so quickly," she said.
