BACKSTAGE AT THE ACMS

Here's what happened behind the scenes of the 41st Academy of Country Music Awards telecast.

When Keith Urban was asked backstage what fiancée Nicole Kidman thought about his Top Male Vocalist award, Keith replied, "She was very congratulatory," but added that she was not in Las Vegas. He did not specify where she was, however. Keith was also told of a report in the Australian press that had Bette Midler performing at Keith and Nicole's upcoming wedding. "Really? Fantastic! I'm looking forward to that," Keith laughed.

Kenny Chesney noted that "winning never gets old. It seems like every year, we turn it up a notch." Kenny added that he was going to savor his Entertainer of the Year award, because "fame has an expiration date."

Brad Paisley told reporters that his proudest moment on the ACM telecast was his participation in the Buck Owens tribute segment, along with Dwight Yoakam, ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons and more. He called it a very "up" celebration done in the "Buck fashion."

Sugarland vocalist Jennifer Nettles said that she and bandmate Kristian Bush are busy recording their sophomore album. Jennifer described it as, "Full and rich and meaty and fun, all at the same time."
