ANOTHER CHARGE FOR MINDY MCCREADY

"Ten Thousand Angels" singer Mindy McCready was arrested early last Friday morning, May 6, in the Nashville suburb of Belle Meade and charged with drunk driving. Police stopped Mindy about 3 a.m. for speeding, but then the officer smelled alcohol in her vehicle and asked Mindy to take a sobriety test, in which she performed poorly. She was also charged with refusing to take an alcohol breath test and driving on a suspended license. Mindy was freed on $3,500 bond later that day. After her release, Mindy smiled and told Nashville television station WSMV-TV that she was not intoxicated and that her driver's license is not suspended, but that she was speeding. "We all make mistakes," she said. "We're human. Hopefully, everyone-like I am-will have that attitude. I'm not upset." Mindy also called jail "a very entertaining place to be at 3 in the morning." This is the latest in Mindy's troubles with the law. She is already serving three years' probation for buying painkillers with a fake prescription in 2004. She was also fined $4,000 and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service work.
