ANDY GRIGGS' JOYRIDE
Andy Griggs was arrested last week after taking a joyride in an ambulance! Sometime around 3 a.m. on Feb. 16, Andy and a friend noticed an ambulance in the parking lot of a Tallahassee, Fla., Days Inn and decided to take it for a spin.
Andy and his buddy turned the vehicle around after a short distance and returned to the hotel, but that didn't stop them from landing in hot water -- and the slammer!
Police arrived soon after and charged the men with grand theft auto, a third-degree felony that usually carries a penalty of up to five years in jail. That's not likely for Andy and his pal, however, according to cops, because neither has a criminal record in Florida. The two posted $1,000 bond each and were released a few hours later.
Andy and his friend were not the only ones in trouble after the incident: The paramedics who left the keys in the unlocked ambulance in the first place were reprimanded, according to the company who owns the vehicle.
