AND NOW, THE REST OF THE STORY

There's more to the arrest of Kid Rock in Nashville. As we reported yesterday, he was arrested and charged with simple assault for allegedly punching a disc jockey at an adult entertainment club near downtown Nashville. The incident was reported around 3 a.m. Feb. 16. But here's what happened before the arrest: After attending Tuesday's memorial service for Hank Williams Jr.'s manager Merle Kilgore, Kid Rock, Hank Jr., Travis Tritt, Big & Rich, Aaron Tippin and about 20 of their entourage went for a $7,000 dinner at The Palm. Then Kid Rock and John Rich decided to hit Bourbon Street [a club] on Printer's Alley. As they left-to go to the strip clubs-Kid Rock was driving John's new Corvette and got pulled over by a Vanderbilt University police officer for speeding. The starstruck officer got an autograph from Kid Rock instead of giving him a field sobriety test. The officer was later fired for giving preferential treatment to a celebrity.
