ALAN TAPS ALISON FOR NEW CD

Alan Jackson has given the nod to Alison Krauss to produce his new CD, which will be released in September.

The two had worked together before when Alison recorded "The Angels Cried" with Alan for his 1993 Honky Tonk Christmas album. But this new partnership evolved when Alan and Alison appeared at the Grand Ole Opry at Carnegie Hall show last November. They had a casual conversation about possibly making a bluegrass record, but Alison suggested a different approach, and they agreed to record a few songs. Alan was so pleased by the results that he asked Alison to help him complete the album. This marks another breakthrough for female artists as producers. This year, Lari White produced Toby Keith's White Trash With Money CD.
