ALAN JACKSON SETS RECORD FOR CMA NOMS

The nominations for the 36th annual CMA Awards were announced yesterday, with Alan Jackson walking away with a record-breaking ten nominations for a one-year period.

The previous record was nine nominations, held and kept by Merle Haggard since 1970.

"It's pretty amazing," says Alan. "I was surprised and flattered and shocked and grateful and thankful. The only thing is, I've got a lot more to lose at this show than normal!"

The show will be hosted by Vince Gill for the 11th year in a row, and will be broadcast live on CBS-TV on November 6 at 8 pm ET.
