Alan Jackson Sells Out Australian Dates

When Alan Jackson heads Down Under in March 2011 for his first-ever string of Australian tour dates, he can look forward to jam-packed audiences at every event. Tickets for the singer’s four concert dates, in Melbourne (March 4), Sydney (March 7), and Brisbane (March 10 and 11), sold out within hours of becoming available to the ticket-buying Aussie public. The news so pleased promoters that a fifth show in Brisbane was added for March 12.

For his part, Alan looks forward to the string of shows. “I’ve always heard that it’s just beautiful down there, and everybody I know that’s been there loved it,” Alan said in a press release. “I’ve heard that the Australian people are really warm and welcome people from the U.S. so generously. That’s all I’ve heard—just great things.” There’s also another reason Alan might feel right at home. “I’m a Southern man, and that’s about as far South as we can go—let’s go do it!” he says.
