There’s absolutely no denying that Alan Jackson is a capital-c Country singer. But in his newest endeavor, he proves to be a country and western singer.

Alan has recorded the title track for the new comedy film A Million Ways to Die in the West, directed by Family Guy mastermind Seth MacFarlane. The film is set in the Old West, and while Alan’s song reflects that with its heavy chugging rhythm and manly background vocals, it’s the lyric that has us reeling with laughter.

Check out this sample couplet:

Six bullets in the gut or just a paper cut, too many ways to quantify
They’ll cut your ankle off, to cure a minor cough because there’s a million ways to die

A Million Ways to Die in the West opens May 30 and stars Seth MacFarlane, Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson, Neil Patrick Harris, Amanda Seyfried, Giovanni Ribisi and Sarah Silverman.

Oh, and this isn’t Alan’s first appearance on a soundtrack: In 2006, he recorded “Barefootin’” with Jimmy Buffet for the movie Hoot.
