ALAN JACKSON INDUCTED INTO GEORGIA MUSIC HALL OF FAME

Congratulations to Alan Jackson as the newest inductee of the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.

Jackson attended the induction ceremonies this week in his home state of Georgia at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

Jackson says that he's proud to be from Georgia, adding "I really felt like I had a good childhood growing up there and all my family and my wife's family -- everybody's still there."

"Music was always in my life," said Jackson in a 1990 interview. "But I didn't grow up thinking I'd ever get to do it professionally. Nashville was a long way from Newnan, Georgia."

Not so long now, is it?

Alan Jackson's Greatest Hits Collection has just reached the 5 million sales mark.
