ADKINS IN HOT WATER OVER DUI CHARGE

Trace Adkins was pulled over by a Tennessee police officer on July 5 for speeding. The singer was driving 50 mph in a 30 mph zone in Nolensville.

Apparently the officer noticed an open beer bottle in the truck and asked Adkins to take a blood alcohol test. Adkins refused and was promptly charged with DUI because of Tennessee's implied consent law.

He posted the $1,000 bail and was released the morning after the incident, but his court appearance is scheduled for July 23.

Adkin's representatives say he is "embarrassed and concerned about the incident." The artist declined further comment on the advice of his attorneys.
