ACM Reveals New Artist Nominees

Hunter Hayes, Thompson Square and Jana Kramer are among the hot new stars who will be contending for the Academy of Country Music's New Artist of the Year award. The ACM and GAC announced the nominees in three newcomer categories: New Female Vocalist, New Male Vocalist and New Vocal Duo or Group. The winner in each category will then go on to compete for the overall New Artist of the Year award. The winner of New Artist of the Year will be revealed at the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, Sunday night, April 7, live from Las Vegas on CBS.

As with previous years, the fans again will decide the winners. First-round fan voting in the three newcomer categories will begin Monday, Jan. 21, at voteacm.com and gactv.com/acm and end Monday, Feb. 4. The winners in each category will be announced in February. Fans may begin voting for New Artist of the Year on March 25 through voteacm.com.
