ACM to Honor George

The Academy of Country Music will honor George Strait as the Artist of the Decade, April 6 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, during a show that will air at a later date on CBS-TV.

This marks the first time that the award will be presented during its own television special. Past Artist of the Decade honorees were Marty Robbins, Loretta Lynn, Alabama and Garth Brooks. The ACM Awards will be held April 5 in Las Vegas.
